Search for Publication Link

Use the Search for Publication link to provide users of your site with links to any of the following:
bullet item a list of publications
bullet item a list of issues for a specific publication
bullet item a list of articles within a specific publication issue
bullet item a generic Search for Publication screen—We encourage you to use the generic page as a template for creating a customized application that allows users to search for publications, issues, and issue contents on their own.

Capturing a Link

To Provide a List of Publications, Issues, or Articles

1. Start ProQuest Direct.
2. If you are not at the Search for Publication page, click Search for Publication on the menu.
3. Type your search in the Search for field.
4. Click Search. Skip to step 7 below to provide a list of one or more publications.
5. Click a publication title. Skip to step 7 below to provide a list of available issues.
6. Click an available issue. A list of available articles displays.
7. Capture the link.
8. Insert the link into selected text or an image on your site. When visitors to your site click the link, ProQuest Direct displays the Search for Publication page, or the publication list, issue list, or article list you specified.

To Provide a Generic Search for Publication Page

We encourage you to use the generic page as a template for creating a customized application that allows users to search for publications, issues, and issue contents on their own.

1. Start ProQuest Direct.
2. If you are not at the Search for Publication page, click Search for Publication on the menu.
3. Capture the link.
4. Insert the link into selected text or an image on your site. When visitors to your site click the link, a generic Search for Publication page will display. We encourage you to customize this page...using buttons, text, colors, and other elements so that is visually compatible with the rest of your site.

Modifying a Link

After you capture a link, you can modify it. You can either use the Link Editor tool or modify the link by hand.

Using the Link Editor

The Link Editor has two sections:

bullet.gif (826 bytes) General Information contains account information and access control fields. These fields are present in the Link Editor for all of the ProQuest Direct links.
bullet.gif (826 bytes) Search Information contains link-specific information. The fields in this section vary for each ProQuest Direct link.

Manually Editing a Link

As an alternative to using the Link Editor, you can edit the link by hand.
